They are always a favorite in anything that has to do with futbol. Germany is a futbol nation that has excelled in many Fifa World Cup tournaments. They are 3 times winners of the competition and they’ve come in as runner-up 4 times. As decorated as this team is, it has been a while since they won a major international trophy.
This will be the 18th appearance for the Germans, and they entered with an almost spotless record of 9-1-0 (W-D-L) record in their qualification journey. There are abundance of talent in the German team, as always. They are significantly blessed in the midfield. As most major European teams in the competition, they have the advantage that comes with having a lineup with the majority of your players coming from the same domestic league.
The Venom
Miroslav Klose is a man on a mission to be the record top goal scorer for the German team. He is tied at No.1 on that list with the legend, Gerd Muller. This will be an opportunity for the striker to extend his tally. Klose is a player who knows how to be in the right place at the right time. Add his precision to that trait, and you will have a prolific goal scorer.

Not only is Klose on the hunt to top the list of goal scorers for the German national team, he is also a goal shy of tying the record for the most goals score in the Fifa World Cup. Currently, the Brazilian legend; Ronaldo, holds this title at 15 goals.
Fiorentina’s Mario Gomez and Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski are other front men to have an impact the German offensive work.

The captain of the team, Philipp Lahm is the man here. He has been a key player on the German team for quite sometimes, and he doesn’t seem to be running out of fuel. The full-back continues to glide on the flanks to help with both defensive and offensive duties.

As stated earlier, they always come in a futbol competition as a favorite. Germany is expected to get out of Group G as the group leader. As a matter. Of fact, they will be a favorite against any team, with the exception of the host nation and Spain (since they haven’t found a way to beat Spain when it matters). The odds of winning the tournament is pretty good for Germany.
But as always, this is futbol, there will always be some drama, suspense and surprises, and that is why we will have to be watching to see if Germany can make their advantage count.
