German Bundesliga after Round 8 – Haaland scored a hattrick to bring Borussia Dortmund a point away from the top.

It could have been worse for Bayern if RB Leipzig had picked up a win at Frankfurt.

 

Bayern Munich lead is narrowed to a single point.

Dortmund moved up a position to 2nd, while RB Leipzig dropped two positions to 4th, and Leverkusen moved up a spot to 3rd. These were the positional changes that happened in the top 11 spots in the league standings.

Mainz used a win at Freiburg to pick themselves from the bottom of the league table; allowing Schalke to deservedly take the spot.

Erling Haaland scored 4 goals to move a goal away from the top of the goal scoring list.

  • Aleksandar Dragovic scored a late winning goal for Leverkusen to take three points against Arminia Bielefeld. The result marked the 5th straight league victory in the league for Leverkusen, while leaving recently promoted Arminia Bielefeld on 6 straight league defeats.
  • Bayern Munich avoided defeat but dropped points at home after a 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen. It has been a ‘1-1’ draw in Werder Bremen’s 5 last league matches.
  • Monchengladbach’s early lead was cancelled out by an Augsburg late goal. Florian Neuhaus gave Monchengladbach a lead in the 5th minute, and Daniel Caliguiri levelled the score in the 88th despite his isde playing with a numerical disadvantage from the 66th minute.
  • Schalke went 24 league matches without a win after suffering a defeat at home against Wolfsburg.
  • Marc-Oliver Kempf scored deep into stoppage time to get Stuttgart a point and a 3-3- draw away against Hoffenheim.

  • RB Leipzig failed to take advantage of the points dropped by Bayern Munich. They had to settle for a point at Frankfurt.
  • Erling Braut Haaland scored 4 goals as Dortmund bounced back from defeat in Der Klassiker with a 5-2 win on the road against Hertha Berlin.
  • Jean-Philippe Mateta scored three a hattrick for Mainz to pick up three points from Freiburg with a 3-1 win. A first league win for Mainz.
    FC Koln stayed without a win after a ‘2-1’ home defeat against Union Berlin.
