We are a round from the mid-point of the season and Bayern Munich remains in the position to defend the league title for the 11th consecutive season.
With Freiburg dropping points in a 6-0 thrashing at Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich’s lead in the title race increased by a point, despite dropping points in a 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig.
RB Leipzig and Freiburg both dropped two positions down to 5th and 4th respectively.
Frankfurt moved up two positions to 2nd with a win against bottom-tabled Schalke.
Union Berlin moved up two positions after a win against Hoffenheim.
Dortmund stayed in 6th place after narrowly escaping with a win against relegation-threatened Augsburg.
Leverkusen moved up to the middle of the league table with a win against Monchengladbach.
Bochum moved out of the relegation zone and handed their relegation position to Hertha Berlin.

Marcel Halstenberg’s goal in the 52nd minute got RB Leipzig a point against Bayern Munich.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s goal in the 37th minute did not get Bayern Munich the maximum points.

Rafa Borre and Aurelio Buta entered the match in the 70th minute and scored a goal each to move Frankfurt to the 3 points through a 3-0 win against Schalke.

Three goals in each half led Wolfsburg to the three points through a 6-0 thrashing of Freiburg.

Union Berlin came from a goal down in the first half to a 3-1 win. Danilho Doekhi scored the equalizing goal in the 73rd minute, and the winning goal in the 89th minute both headers] to help Union Berlin to the three points against Hoffenheim.

There were no hattricks but there were double braces. Steffen Tigges and Ellyes Skhiri both scored two goals. FC Koln were five goals up in the opening 40 minutes of the tie and ended the first half 5-1 lead that ended up as a 7-1 win against Werder Bremen.

Dortmund eventually came out on top in a 7-goal thrilling game against Augsburg by restoring a goal lead whenever they lost it. Giovanni Reyna stored the 7th goal of the match in the 78th minute to decide the match in Dortmund’s favor.

Lars Stindl got two late goals to bring Monchengladbach a goal away from saving a point at home against Leverkusen but Leverkusen held on to take a 3-2 win home.
