Paris Saint-Germain won the Ligue 1 title with a draw against Strasbourg. Lens secured second place and a direct spot in the Champions League with a win that also relegated Ajaccio. Marseille will have to settle for third place after losing 2-1 at home to Brest. Since Lens had already won, Marseille’s result did not affect their final position in the standings. Lille moved up to fourth place with a win over Nantes, keeping Nantes in the relegation zone. Rennes moved up to fifth place with a win over Monaco, which dropped Monaco two places to sixth. Nantes has one more round to avoid relegation, by trading positions with Auxerre.

Nantes and Auxerre are both fighting to avoid being relegated to the lower division, but only one of them can stay in the top division. Auxerre is currently one place and two points ahead of Nantes in the league table, but Nantes has a better goal difference. If Nantes wins on the final day of the season, Auxerre must also win to guarantee their safety, as Nantes will overtake them on goal difference if they finish on the same number of points.
