The defending champions won 3-0 at home to keep up pace with Monaco. The win brings PSG on equal points with Monaco, but Monaco has a game in hand to reclaim their position on top of the league standings.

Nice win over Monaco makes Nice the last team in the 2016/17 Ligue 1 to be undefeated.
Two goals in each half from Nice went unanswered as they climbed again to the top of the league with a convincing 4-0 win over Monaco.
New boy Mario Balotelli scored two goals in this match. Balotelli scored the insurance goal and another goal to ensure the insurance goal.
Lyon 5-1 Montpellier

Going down a goal in the 4th minute didn’t stop Lyon from getting maximum points from Montpellier.
After Morgan Sanson gave Montpellier an early lead in the 4th minute, the team went down a man 4 minutes later when Morgan Poaty was sent off with a red card.
It took a penalty for Lyon to find a goal against the 10-men of Montpellier. Nabil Fekir goal from a penalty in the 37th minute and Corentin Tolisso’s 42nd-minute header gave Lyon a 2-1 advantage at the half.
After the restart, it was Fekir and Tolisso again to find the net to double Lyon’s scoring in the match. Gnaly Maxwell Cornet powered his way forward to score in the 75th minute to extend the lead to 4 goals.
Bastia 0-0 Nancy
Newly promoted Nancy went three matches without a defeat after a draw away to Bastia. Both teams could have used a win, but Nancy would be the happier of the two with this result.
Angers 2-1 Caen

Angers moved three points away from Caen after a 2-1 home victory.
Nantes 0-0 Saint-Etienne
Nantes could not take advantage of the support of their home crowd, a man advantage and a penalty to get a goal against Saint-Etienne.
The only win Nantes has managed to grab in the 2016/17 season of the French Ligue 1 is their season opener against newly-promoted Dijon. They won by a goal in that match.
It was a tough match for Saint-Etienne as they were forced to use all three of the substitution before the 22nd minute of the match because of injuries and a red card sending off of substitute Kevin Malcuit, who had been sent into the match in the 10th minute to replace midfielder Fabien Lemoine.
Guingamp 1-0 Lorient

In a fairly balanced match, a penalty in the second half gave Guingamp a 1-0 home victory over Lorient. It is another loss for struggling Lorient, as they sit at the bottom of the league table.
Metz 0-3 Bordeaux

Amongst the newly promoted teams in Ligue 1, FC Metz has had the best start to their season. But this result intensified the questions about how long their decent run will last.
Rennes 3-2 Marseille

Two late goals gave Rennes a 3-2 home win.
Bafetimbi Gomis scored two goals to bring Marseille from a goal down to take the lead against Rennes, but his team still finished the match as losers. Marseille’s Zinedine Machach received two yellow cards in the second half and was sent off in the 65th minute.
The man advantage didn’t pay off for Rennes until the 86th minute when a penalty allowed the team to move a goal up to tie the match. Rennes’s match winning goal was scored three minutes later by Adrien Hunou
