Weekend Bangers

German Bundesliga – Round 30

15 points left to go and Bayern Munich is 7 points clear.
With the form they’re in, it’s only a matter of time before Bayern are crowned champions.

League Standings
1. Bayern Munich – 67 points
2. Borussia Dortmund – 60 points
3. RB Leipzig – 58 points
4. Borussia Mönchengladbach – 56 points
5. Bayer Leverkusen – 56 points
6. Wolfsburg – 42 points
7. Hoffenheim – 42 points
8. Freiburg – 38 points
9. Hertha Berlin – 38 points
10. Schalke – 37 points
11. Eintracht Frankfurt – 35 points
12. FC Köln – 34 points
13. Augsburg – 31 points
14. Union Berlin – 31 points
15. Mainz – 28 points
16. Fortuna Düsseldorf – 27 points
17. Werder Bremen – 25 points
18. Paderborn – 19 points

Avoiding the drop!

It’s a desperate time for Paderbon. They are sinking fast and their fixtures are not getting any easier.
Bottom table Paderborn moved from Borussia Dortmund to another ‘top 4’ team; RB Leipzig.
Wolfsburg are 6 points 0ff the UCL qualification as things stand. Werder Bremen will need a win against Wolfsburg to help their fight to escape relegation. Mainz needs a positive result against Frankfurt. Dusseldorf needs to pick up points against Hoffenheim.

Schalke have lost every match since restart (4 defeats in a row) It’s 13 matches without a win. 11 league matches since their last league win. Schalke could use a win against Union Berlin to end their terrible run of games. Recently promoted Union Berlin are not in the best form either. They haven’t won a match since restart (3L 1D) and are 7 games in without a win.

The race for top four (UCL qualification)
2nd – Dortmund – 60 points (Dortmund vs Hertha Berlin)
3rd – RB Leipzig – 58 points (RB Leipzig vs Paderborn)
4th –  Borussia Monchengladbach – 56 points (Freiburg vs Borussia Monchengladbach)
5th – Bayer Leverkusen – 56 points (Bayer Leverkusen vs Bayern Munich)

It’s a must win for Monchengladbach to keep up with the race for direct qualification for the Champions League.

Leverkusen needs the result to get into a Champions League qualifying spot in the ‘top 4’. Bayern Munich is getting stronger by the rounds and are steps away from defending their league title. Can Leverkusen get something out of the match?

Hertha Berlin are unbeaten since the re-start of the season. Borussia Dortmund will need to change that to keep up with the title race and avoid falling deep into the Champions League qualifying race. Should Hertha Berlin keep up with their form, they could clinch the Europa League qualification by the end of the season
