2009 FIFA Confederation Cup final – USA vs Brazil.
Beating Brazil would be killing two giants in a row for the United States. USA had already beaten Spain, who were ranked #1 in the World at the time.
It was a story of two halves. There is little doubt that USA and their fans enjoyed the first half. We can say the same for Brazil and their fans in the second half.
Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan gave United States a healthy 2-0 lead by the end of the first half. Brazil turned on the show in the second half, as Luis Fabiano cancelled USA’s lead and Lucio finding the winner.
