THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP AFTER THE GROUP STAGE:
We entered the third round of the group stage in the European Championship.
Late goals in both games, as Germany wins the group with a late goal against Switzerland, while Scotland crashes out conceding a late goal against Hungary.
Spain won Group B with the maximum points, while Croatia’s hopes were dashed when they conceded late against Italy, losing their lead. Albania finished at the bottom of the group.
There were no winners or even goals from both games of the final round in Group C. All four teams in Group C were in a position to win it, but it was Englandโs to lose.
The Netherlands and France were in a position to secure direct advancement to the Round of 16, but Austria changed the standings with a win against the Dutch, while a Polish team that had already been eliminated took a point from France. Austria restored their lead on three occasions to secure a 3-2 win over the Netherlands to win Group D, while Poland came from behind to get a point in a 1-1 draw with France.
Goal advantage decided the standings in Group E after all four teams ended up with four points each, allowing Romania to come out as group winners, Belgium as runner-up, and Slovakia to advance with their third-place finish. Ukraine is eliminated.
In Group F, Georgia picked up a win over Portugal to avoid ending their debut tournament in the group stage, while Turkey scored late to claim a win over Czechia and finished the group in second place.

Switzerland took the lead in the 28th minute through a goal from Dan Ndoye and were looking to be on their way to a win over Germany that would have seen the Swiss win Group A. However, Niclas Fullkrug scored the equalizing goal in the second minute of the final added time (90+2), earning Germany a point that allowed them to stay unbeaten and win Group A.
๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ Scotland ( 0 ) – ( 1 ) ๐ญ๐บ Hungary
Kevin Csoboth, who entered the game in the 86th minute, scored the only goal of the game in the tenth minute of added time, securing Hungary a third-place finish in Group A with a win over Scotland.

Winning was not a necessity for Spain, but they did it anyway. Ferran Torres scored the only goal of the game in the 13th minute, allowing Spain to close out Group B with maximum points, while leaving Albania at the bottom of the group with just one point.
๐ญ๐ท Croatia ( 1 ) – ( 1 ) ๐ฎ๐น Italy
A goal in the 90+5โ minute against Albania in the second game denied Croatia a win and left them with a 2-2 draw. A goal in the 90+8โ minute against Italy in the third game also denied Croatia a win and left them with a 1-1 draw.
Mattia Zaccagni, who entered the game in the 82nd minute, scored the equalizer for Italy to avoid defeat against Croatia. This result allowed Italy to maintain their position in second place in Group B, leaving Croatia in third place. Zaccagniโs goal came in the 8th minute of the final added time (90+8โ).

England and Denmark avoided defeat by playing out a goalless draw against each other. This worked to their advantage as Slovenia and Serbia also played out a goalless draw. The point gained by the Danish was enough to get them second place in the group, ahead of Slovenia, while Serbia finished at the bottom. England won Group C.
๐ซ๐ท France ( 1 ) – ( 1 ) ๐ต๐ฑ Poland
Mbappe scored from a penalty in the 56th minute to put France ahead. Lewandowski scored the equalizer for Poland through a penalty in the 79th minute.
๐ณ๐ฑ Netherlands ( 2 ) – ( 3 ) ๐ฆ๐น Austria
Donyell Malenโs own goal opened the scoring to put Austria up by a goal. The lead lasted until the second half when Cody Gakpo scored the equalizer for the Netherlands in the 47th minute. Romano Schmid scored to put Austria ahead again in the 59th minute. Memphis Depay leveled the score for the Dutch in the 75th minute before Marcel Sabitzer scored the deciding goal for Austria in the 80th minute.

Ondrej Duda gave Slovakia the lead in the 24th minute. Razvan Marin equalized it for Romania through a penalty.
๐บ๐ฆ Ukraine ( 0 ) – ( 0 ) ๐ง๐ช Belgium (european championship)
It was an evenly contested match and it finished as such on the scoreboard with a goalless draw that had no benefit for Ukraine.
๐ฌ๐ช Georgia ( 2 ) – ( 0 ) ๐ต๐น Portugal (european championship)
Georgiaโs debut tournament would have ended in a group stage elimination if they hadnโt picked up a win against Portugal in the final match of the group stage. Portugal had already secured advancement from the group, but we expected them to finish with maximum points by beating Georgia. An early goal from Kvicha Kvaratskhelia in the second minute gave Georgia the platform to go on and beat Portugal. Georges Mikautadze doubled Georgiaโs lead in the 57th minute through a penalty.
๐จ๐ฟ Czechia ( 1 ) – ( 2 ) ๐น๐ท Turkiye (european championship)
Cenk Tosun scored a late winning goal in the 4th minute of added time to see Turkey win 2-1 against Czechia to finish second in the group. It was a must-win fixture for Czechia, and it wasnโt made easier when they played most of the match with a numerical disadvantage after Antonin Barak picked up his second yellow card in the opening 20 minutes, leaving Czechia with 10 men.
