Alvaro Morata came into the game in the 62nd minute and scored 18 minutes later for Spain to even the score with Italy to send the game into extra time. Morata’s goal canceled out the lead Federico Chiesa had given Italy in the 60th minute.
Extra time ended goalless, with substitutions made by both teams in anticipation for penalty kickoffs.
