English Premier League returns for the 2018/19 edition

The World Cup did a good job to keep football fans from suffering from the gap in their weekend schedule that had been created by the absence of league football.

The wait is over and the Premier League returns on August 10. 2018, with the kick-off at Old Trafford as Manchester United and Leicester City go for the first ‘3 points’ available.

London-based pre-season ‘top four’ favorites Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will start their season away from home. Tottenham will be going up against Newcastle United, while Chelsea faces Huddersfield Town.

Newly promoted Cardiff City will travel to Bournemouth to play their first match of the season, while Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers will open their season in front of their home fans.

Liverpool takes on West Ham United. Both teams have done their fair share of business during the transfer window and have fans that are expecting a better season.

For the first time since 1996, Arsenal will have a new man on the sideline.

The first round of the 2018/19  season will end with a ‘bang’ at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal (without Arsene Wenger) will take on the defending champions Manchester City. Unai Emery will be hoping for positive results in his first Premier League fixture that also happens to be on home grounds.
