Matches

El Derbi Madrileño and Derby della Capitale are part of this ‘Weekend Bangers’ – Higlighted fixtures for the coming weekend.

September 28, 2018
Hertha Berlin v Bayern Munich (German Bundesliga)
Bayern failed to secure the maximum points in their mid-week fixture against Augsburg. Now it’s up to the defending champions to go to Berlin and get back to winning ways. Failure to successfully get a win against Hertha Berlin would leave room for Borussia Dortmund to potentially climb to the top of the league table after Round 6.

Saint-Etienne v Monaco (Italian Serie A)
Saint-Etienne could make it a third straight league victory if they get a home victory against a struggling Monaco.
Monaco is in desperate need to turn their season around. Monaco is in the relegation zone after 7 matches into the season. Since their ‘3-1’ opening day victory over Nantes, Monaco has failed to win in all competitions. (4 league defeats, 3 league draws and a defeat in the Champions League)

September 29, 2018
Bayer Leverkusen v Borussia Dortmund (German Bundesliga)
After a rough start to their season with defeats in their opening 3 matches of the 2018/19 Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen is now looking for their 4th consecutive victory in all competitions when they welcome a Borussia Dortmund side that is hoping that a victory for them will be good enough to take them to the top of the league. Dortmund would be coming into the match with all the confidence they gained from their ‘7-0’ smashing victory against Nurnberg earlier in the week.

Roma v Lazio (Rome Derby) (Italian Serie A)

Derby della Capitale
The results from recent Derby della Capitale will confirm that the match points can go in any direction.
Can Lazio plant themselves well in the top four of the Serie A? Or is Roma going to make it a consecutive league victory for the first time in the season to reduce the 4-point gap between themselves and city rivals Lazio?
After success in their opening match of the season at Torino, Roma failed to win a single match until their most recent fixture against newly-promoted Frosinone. Lazio, on the other hand, is in a Champions League qualifying position in the league standings after bouncing back from their difficult start to their season.

Juventus v Napoli (Italian Serie A)
The top two teams in Serie A will meet for a chance to tighten or widen the title race for the Scudetto. Napoli has the opportunity to level up on points with Juventus by coming out of Turin with a victory.
This would be an opportunity for Juventus to break further away from the rest of Serie A. Juventus remain the only unbeaten side in the Serie A, and Napoli is probably the most equipped side to change that.

Arsenal v Watford (English Premier League)
4 league wins in a row after starting their season with 2 defeats. Watford had a perfect start just two rounds ago, but are in need of a victory after 2 matches without. Arsenal can replace Watford in the top four of the league standings with a home win.

Chelsea v Liverpool (English Premier League)
Chelsea can be top of the league with a win!
Liverpool hasn’t dropped a point since the start of the league. To keep the streak going, Liverpool must beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. A defeat is guaranteed to knock Liverpool off the top spot in the league standings, while a draw would leave them open for Manchester City to take the pole position if they do the expected and beat Brighton & Hove Albion.

Barcelona v Athletic Club (Spanish La Liga)
Midweek shocking defeat to Leganes has Barcelona in need of a La Liga victory after going two matches without.

Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid (Madrid Derby) (Spanish La Liga)

El Derbi Madrileño
After falling to Sevilla in their midweek fixture, Real Madrid can’t afford the disgrace of losing a match at home to the city rivals. Only 2 points separate the two sides in the league standings, and Atletico Madrid would leap over Real Madrid in the standings if they are victorious.
