Almere City and Angers were hoping to end their winless starts to the league season, but both will have to wait for another round of games for another chance. Angers managed to avoid defeat with a 1-1 draw against Marseille in Ligue 1, while Almere City couldn’t recover from a one-goal deficit and lost their Eredivisie home fixture against Willem II.

🇵🇹 Rio Ave ( 1 ) – ( 1 ) Famalicão (portuguese primeira liga) :
Rio Ave came from a goal down to salvage a point at home against Famalicão.

🇩🇪 Augsburg ( 2 ) – ( 1 ) Borussia Mönchengladbach (german bundesliga) :
Augsburg moved a point ahead of Mönchengladbach by beating them 2-1.

🇳🇱 Almere City ( 0 ) – ( 1 ) Willem II (dutch eredivisie) :
Amar Fatah scored the game’s only goal in the 78th minute to give Willem II a win over a winless Almere City.

🇪🇸 Leganés ( 0 ) – ( 0 ) Valencia (spanish la liga) :
Leganés and Valencia remained with just one league win each in La Liga after playing out a goalless draw to open the weekend round of games.

🇮🇹 Napoli ( 3 ) – ( 1 ) Como (italian serie a) :
Scott McTominay put Napoli in the lead in the opening minute of the game against Como, but it was Romelu Lukaku’s goal from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute that secured the win for Napoli after Gabriel Strefezza had leveled the score in the 43rd minute for Como. David Neres came into the match in the 79th minute and added to Napoli’s lead with a goal in the 86th minute, sealing a 3-1 victory over a Como side that was coming from consecutive league wins.

🇮🇹 Hellas Verona ( 2 ) – ( 1 ) Venezia (italian serie a) :
Going a goal up in the second minute was only good enough for Venezia to deny Hellas Verona a clean sheet, as they ended up losing 2-1. An own goal in the 81st minute was the winning goal for Hellas Verona after Casper Tengstedt had scored in the 9th minute to cancel out the lead Gaetano Oristanio had given Venezia.

🇫🇷 Marseille ( 1 ) – ( 1 ) Angers (french ligue 1) :
Marseille dropped two points after also losing 1-0 to Strasbourg in their previous league match, while Angers remain winless but avoided defeat. The two sides played from the 30th minute with 10 men on both sides after red cards were picked up by a player from each team—Angers in the 26th minute and Marseille in the 30th. Marseille went a goal up in the 51st minute, but Angers equalized in the 54th.
