The top four record winners in the competition advanced to the next round. 19-time winner Bayern Munich is looking at a clear passage to their 20th title in the competition after Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig were both knocked out of the competition in the Round of 16 stage.

Werder Bremen haven’t won the cup since 2009. They are still in the hunt for title number 7.

Schalke can go for title #6 and their first since 2011.

It will be Fortuna Dusseldorf first title since 1980 if they should grab the German Cup. Title #3

Granada took the first available ticket to the semi final after beating Valencia.

There will be no Barcelona and Real Madrid in this year’s Copa del Rey final. Both Spanish giants were dumped in the quarter final after losing their respective match by a single goal.

Three teams from the top tier and one from the second tier will be in the semifinal of the Copa del Rey.
Mirandes; the lowest ranked has already knocked out three top tier teams from the competition to get to the semi final – Cleta Vigo, Sevilla, and Villarreal.

Real Sociedad handed Real Madrid their first home defeat of the season in a 4-3 victory to advance.

Just like their meeting in the opening round of the La Liga season, Athletic Club scored in the dying minutes of the match to get a home win over Barcelona.
