The final rounds of the UEFA World Cup qualifiers is upon us. Belgium is the only team that has clinched a place in Russia 2018, leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, and Cyprus to fight for a playoff place in Group H. After October 10, 2017, we will have the list of teams that have direct qualification, and those who will need to play another set of matches to get into the World Cup through the playoffs. .
Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, Serbia, and Spain are in the driving seat in their groups and will be making it to the World Cup by winning their matches.
France, Sweden, Netherlands, and Bulgaria are all alive in Group A. Wales and Ireland will be looking to find a place in the playoffs at the very least from Group D. With Germany in Group C, Northern Ireland will have to settle for the playoffs to get their tickets to Russia. England would likely take the top spot in Group F, but the battle will be between Slovakia, Slovenia, and Scotland to see which of the three will get into the playoffs. As long as Spain does not make any mistakes, we expect them to send Italy into the playoffs from Group G.
The four teams left in ‘Group I’ are all in position to finish top of the group. The objective is the same for Croatia, Iceland, Turkey, and Ukraine.
