- Darmstadt scored a late equalizer to send the games into extra time, but Holstein Kiel came out winners at the end. After knocking out the defending champions, Holstein Kiel advanced to the quarter final of the German Cup through a 7-6 win in a penalty kick-off against Darmstadt.
- The goals came in extra time.
RW Essen shocked Leverkusen by coming from a goal down to win the match in the final 15 minutes of the game. The 2-1 win for RW Essen against Leverkusen is probably the upset of the round. - Paderborn came from two goals down to take Dortmund into extra time, but Erling Haaland’s goal in extra time narrowly got Dortmund into the quarter final at Paderborn’s expense.
- The only game of the day to be won within the regulation time.
Werder Bremen used a 2-0 home win against Greuther Furth to book their place in the quarter final. - It was a comfortable passage to the quarter-final s for RB Leipzig.
Yussuf Poulsen scored a brace in the second half to add to their goals in the opening half of the game. RB Leipzig took a 4-0 win over Bochum to advance. - Wout Weghorst provided the goals to get Wolfsburg to the next stage at Schalke’s expense.
- Jahn Regensburg won 4-3 on penalties to knock out FC Koln after a 2-2 draw.
- A goal in the additional minutes of the first half and another the opening 5 minutes of the second allowed Monchengladbach to come back from an early goal down to push out Stuttgart from the competition.

FIRST-LEG
Juventus are the only winners among the four semifinalists.
There is opportunity for all four teams to book their place in the final in the second leg.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace got Juventus from an early goal down to pick up a first leg win at Milan. With a 2-1 win on the road, Juventus will be favorites to complete the job on their own grounds.
Both teams have a clean sheet for the second leg.
Napoli and Atalanta played out a goalless draw in Naples in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi final. As defending champions, this isn’t the result Napoli would have wanted at home.
COPA DEL REY – QUARTER FINALS
Levante were the only home side to win their game.
Athletic Club were the only side to win it through PKO.
Sevilla were the only side to win without needing to go beyond the regulation time.
Lucas Ocampos scored the only goal of the match in the 67th-minute for Sevialla to leave Almeria with a place in the Copa del Rey semifinals.
Levante moved on to the Copa del Rey semi final after winning the match at the death; in additional minutes after 120 minutes played at home against Villarreal.
It was the game with all the drama. Barcelona were 2-0 down in the 88th minute. With just two minutes left of regulation time, Barcelona found the two goals needed to extend the game into extra-time where they ended up winning 3-1; ending up 5-3 winners against Granada.
It looked to be game over when Juanmi scored the opening goal of the match to put Real Betis up in the 84th minute, but a resilient Athletic Club had more to say.
Raul Garcia scored in the death (90+4′) for Athletic Club to extend the match into extra time; and eventually a penalty kick off.
