Spain will win Group D with a win or draw. Croatia will win the group with a win, and remain second on the table with a draw. The Czech Republic will be ok with a healthy win over Turkey, and Turkey will give themselves hopes of being part of the knockout stages with a win over the Czech Republic.

Being the first team in the competition to score and win by 3 goals, Spain was looking like a contender and a team that was going to defend their title as defending champions.

Croatia had been unlucky not to be tied on points with Spain, a late penalty against the Czech Republic took the win from them. But the team has shown the world they are a quality side, with a midfield as strong as any team in the world.

Turkey has been a disappointment, and Czech Republic looks to have done the bare minimum allowed in Group D.

Spain and Croatia were playing to decide their finishing position on the table, and the Czech Republic and Turkey were playing for an opportunity to be on of the top four 3rd placed teams that would be allowed into the knockout stage.

It was the day for the underdog in Group D. Croatia beat Spain, while Turkey knocked out the Czech Republic.

Spain had a wonderful start to their match by being a goal up in the 7th minute. Alvaro Morata added to his tally and joined Gareth Bale as the only two players with 3 goals to their name in the 2016 European Championship.

A 45th-minute goal from Nikola Kalinic gave Croatia the equalizer. As expected, Spain saw a lot of the ball and had great opportunities to get a second goal to secure their position. But the quality in Croatian midfield always made them a threat when they moved forward. And as the match went on, you could sense that the Croatian team had read out the Spanish attack, and were looking dangerous on the breaks.

Another late goal in the second half gave Croatia the win. Off a counter attack,Ivan Perisic low shot was able to beat David De Gea at his near post.

Perisic was the provider of the equalizing goal and the scorer of the winning goal for Croatia.

On the other side of town. Turkey was getting their first victory in the competition, while the Czech Republic was looking dead at a winless competition. Turkey scored a goal in both halves. Burak Yilmaz put Turkey up a goal in the 10th minute, and Ozan Tufan doubled it in the 65th minute.

The Czech Republic started the day with hopes and ended up eliminated from the competition. Turkey had no points on the table and finished sitting with 3 points and in the 3rd position.

Spain lost their position as Group D winner and have to settle to go into the knockout stages as runners-up.
