Cristiano Ronaldo wins the 2016 Ballon d’Or

Cristiano Ronaldo is the latest Ballon d’Or winner.

It has been a good year for Ronaldo. He won the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA European Championship with Real Madrid and Portugal respectively.

Currently, Real Madrid is 6 points clear at the top of the La Liga table and enjoying the longest unbeaten run in the team’s history.

This is Ronaldo’s fourth award, one short of Lionel Messi.

The top three finalists for the Ballon d’Or were

  1. Cristiano Ronaldo
  2. Lionel Messi
  3. Antoine Griezmann
