USA took home the Bronze medal after a 4-3 win against Australia.
Megan Rapinoe and Carly Lloyd shared the goal scoring for the United States to win the Bronze medal.
Rapinoe and Llyod gave USA a 3-1 to take into the break. Lloyd’s second goal ended up being the important winning goal.
Picking up the Bronze medal might feel like a consolation prize for the USA but they did not deserve any more than that.
SWEDEN GETS ANOTHER SILVER WHILE CANADA MADE A LEAP FROM SUCCESSIVE BRONZE MEDALS TO GOLD
Both Sweden and Canada were in the search for their first-ever Olympic Gold.
Sweden came to the finals as the favorites and took a lead in the 34th minute to establish their dominance.
Sweden’s lead lasted for a little over half an hour before Canada got level in the 67th minute when Jessie Fleming converted an awarded penalty into a goal.

CANADA WIN 2-3 ON PENALTIES
Canada converts their penalties to get through the bracket.
Won in a penalty kickoff to eliminate Brazil in the quarterfinal.
Won against the United States through a penalty in the semifinal.
And got to the Gold after a penalty kickoff win over Sweden.
There were more misses than goals scored in the penalty kickoff. Sweden miss three penalties in a row to lose the advantage they had gained when
Canada missed their three kicks after Fleming converted the first.
