It was a comprehensive victory for Bayern Munich over Wolfsburg.  A brace for Lewandowski and goal from Thomas Muller made the victory a sweeter one for fans of Munich.

Marco Reus scored late to save a point for Borussia Dortmund.  On the balance of play, Borussia Dortmund deserved more. But football does not always award dominance with a goal, it prefers that you are clinical.

Can we call this an upset?

Relegation zoned Hamburger SV moved four points closer to Augsburg with a 1-0 victory.

Both teams finished the match with a man sent off on a red card, but it was Hamburger SV that made the extra space on the pitch count when Filip Kostic scored the only goal of the match to give the home team a win over Augsburg.

It took a team in the relegation zone to give RB Leipzig their first defeat of the season.

After 13 undefeated matches in the 2016/17 Bundesliga, newly-promoted RB Leipzig suffered their first defeat.

The defeat allowed Bayern Munich to take the pole position in the league standings on goal difference.

RB Leipzig defeat makes Hoffenheim the only undefeated side in the Bundesliga.

Freiburg used a late penalty to get a home victory over bottom table Darmstadt. It was the sixth consecutive league defeat for Darmstadt.

Werder Bremen left Berlin with a victory over Hertha Berlin.

It was a defeat that denied Hertha Berlin an opportunity to move a win away from the top of the table.

Bayer Leverkusen got an away victory over a 10-man Schalke team.

Schalke 04 had to play in front of their supporters with a man down after an early red card sent defender Naldo out of the match just about 4 minutes from kickoff.

It took the entire match for Bayer Leverkusen to make the numerical advantage count. A lost in concentration by Schalke defence allowed Stefan Kiessling to find an open header at the end of  a set piece to score the only goal of this fixture.
