Brazil is knocked out by Peru

Foxborough, Massachusetts

Brazil 0 – Peru 1

A 75th-minute controversial goal from Raul Ruidiaz eliminated Brazil from the Copa America Centenario.

When you dominate a match and fail to do the basics, the football gods find ways to remind you. Brazil lost to Peru in a match that a win was optional, as a draw will do for the team. Brazil dominated the match but fail to convert the chances they had into goals.

Peru came in knowing a draw against Brazil will not be enough. They had the difficult task of beating Brazil.

Brazil will have to do some soul searching to find what is missing from their traditional attacking style of play. What they need to improve to get back tho the heights they once were. The world is still waiting for this generation of Brazilian players to make their mark.

Peru finished on top of Group B, and will be going on to play Colombia (Group A runners-up). Ecuador takes on USA (Winners of Group A)

The completed Group B table.
