Borussia Dortmund fell short at home and in the title race.

German Bundesliga

Bayern’s lead at the top was widened to 2 points.
With Leverkusen involved in a draw and Borussia Dortmund beaten over the round, RB Leipzig moved up to second place with a win.
The occupants of the top four remain the same with Wolfsburg knocking at the door.
FC Koln used a win at Dortmund to lap out of the relegation zone.
3 points from a possible 27, and going 25 league games without a win has Schalke at the bottom of the league table.

Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) scored his 12th goal of the season to stay at the top of the goal scoring list.

  • Werder Bremen maintained their unbeaten status in the Bundesliga after winning both halves to finish a 5-3 winners at home against Werder Bremen. This is their 6th straight league game without a win for Werder Bremen but a first defeat to put an end to 5 consecutive games on ‘1-1’ draws.
  • Freiburg haven’t won a game in the Bundesliga since their season opener win against promoted Stuttgart. That is eight matches without a win for Freiburg after failing to hold on to their lead against Augsburg to end the match in a 1-1 draw.
  • Thorgan Hazard scored in the 74th minute to half the lead that Ellyes Skhiri had given FC Koln; but Dortmund ended up dropping the ball at home against FC Koln. A missed opportunity by Dortmund to keep close to the defending champions in the title race.
  • RB Leipzig beat Arminia Bielefeld to make up for the points dropped against Eintracht Frankfurt in the last round.
  • Frankfurt were involved in their 4th straight league draw after sharing 6 goals evenly with Union Berlin. The result denied Union Berlin from a 4th successive league win.
  • Bayern Munich came from a goal down to get things right with a 3-1 win in Stuttgart.
  • Schalke’s winless run in the league was extended to 25 games after a 4-1 defeat against Monchengladbach.
  • Leverkusen were denied a 6th straight win in all competitions after being held by Hertha Berlin to a goalless draw.
  • Mainz followed up with win #1 in the league with a draw at home to Hoffenheim. It’s now 7 matches in the Bundesliga without a win for Hoffenheim, since surprising us with a 4-1 win against Bayern Munich. (As bad as things are at home, Hoffenheim are unbeaten in Europe. 4 wins from 4 in the Europa League).
