                                Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco 90+1′

Belgium becomes the first team in the 2016 European Championship to score 4 goals, and won by the biggest margin so far in the competition.

It was a deceiving scoreline. Hungary had several chances to even the scoreline, but a set of late goals made it look like a blowout.  Two of Belgian substitutes got on the score sheet. This could be an indication of fatigue on the Hungarian side after they had had to chase the match from the 10th minute.

Hungarians were group winners, and Belgium had qualified for the knockout stage as runners-up. Despite the group record for both teams,Belgium were the favorites to win this match. and a goal in the early parts of the match increased their chances of advancing to the quarterfinals.

Toby Alderweireld header in the 10th minute gave a 1-0 lead to Belgium. With the quality players they possessed, it was comfortable for Belgium to defend their goal for most of the match. A goalkeeper like Thibaut Courtois in your net will give any back four the assurance to hold on to a lead.

Hungarians chances got more frequent as the match went on, but it lacked the quality that it would require to beat Courtois.

Michy Batshuayi doubled the lead for Belgium in the 78th minute after coming into the match two minutes earlier for Romelu Lukaku.

Hungarians pushed for an early response to going down a second goal allowed Belgium to show the world how explosive they can be on the counterattack. Eden Hazard finished off the counterattack with a third goal for Belgium in the 80th minute. Second half substitute, Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco made it 4 in additional time.

Belgium moves on to play Wales in the quarterfinals.
