The round was opened with a Monchengladbach defeat at Freiburg. Nils Petersen’s goal was the only one in the match, as Freiburg managed to take all three points at home and deny Monchengladbach the chance to secure their place in the ‘top four’ of the league standings.

Fortunately for Monchengladbach, Bayern Munich did them a favor.
Robert Lewandwoski scored his 30th goal of the season (the first to hit that milestone in Europe’s top 5 leagues) and Thomas Muller got his 20th assist of the season (the first to reach that milestone in Europe’s top 5 leagues), as Bayern Munich picked up another win an are three points closer to the title. The match ended with a 4-2 win for Bayern Munich against Leverkusen; denying Leverkusen the opportunity to take advantage of Monchengladbach’s defeat.

A goal in the final third of each half gave Mainz a ‘2-0’ win in Frankfurt.
The result stopped Frankfurt from making it a third straight win, while Main won their first game since the re-start of the season.

Rouwen Hennings goals helped Dusseldorf to avoid defeat to a 10-man Hoffenheim side. For Dusseldorf, it was a bounce back after the hammering against Bayern. For Hoffenheim, it was points dropped and denial of three successive league victories.

Paderborn might be on their way out of the top-flight but they made their mark in the race for Champions League football at the top end of the league table when Christian Strohdiek scored in injury time to take two points from RB Leipzig.
Fortunately for Leipzig, the trailing teams didn’t do enough over the round to cut into their lead.

Borussia Dortmund stayed 7 points away from the top after a 1-0 win against Hertha Berlin.

While Wolfsburg bounced back from defeat, Werder Bremen suffered back to back defeat. Wout Weghorst scored his 12th goal of the season to hand Wolfsburg a ‘1-0’ away victory against Werder Bremen.

A ‘1-1’ draw against Union Berlin extended Schalke’s search for a league victory. Schalke haven’t won a Bundesliga game in 12 consecutive attempts. This is their first point since the restart of the season.

It looked like a goalless game between Augsburg and FC koln until the last 5 minutes brought about a goal a piece. Florian Niederlecher missed a chance to give Augsburg the lead in the first half from a penalty. It almost cost them dearly when Anthony Modeste gave FC Koln the lead in the 85th-minute. Philipp Mazz quickly restored parity in the 88th-minute to stop his side from back-to-back defeats.
