Bayer Leverkusen bounced back from defeat against Wolfsburg with a narrow victory at Freiburg.
Kai Havertz’s 11th league goal of the season did the job to secure Leverkusen the three points. For Freiburg, it has been a winless restart’ 2 defeats and 2 draws.
Krystof Piatek scored in back-to-back matches (from pen) for Hertha Berlin to remain unbeaten since the restart. Hertha picked up three points after a 2-0 home victory against Augsburg.
Steven Zuber missed a penalty that would have given Hoffenheim the lead earlier. Ihlas Bebou’s goal in the 43rd-minute gave Hoffenheim a ‘1-0’ win on the road against a Mainz side that was looking for points to drag themselves out of the relegation threat.
Leornardo Bittencourt scored the only goal of the match for Werder Bremen to pick up vital 3-points at Schalke. It marked the 4th straight defeat for Schalke; meaning a defeat in every match since the restart of the season. Schalke is on a streak of 10 matches without a win. 13 matches since their last league win, 11 league matches since their last league win.
Wolfsburg went from a win at Leverkusen to a defeat at home. Daichi Kamada decided the match for Eintracht Frankfurt with his goal in the 85th-minute to hand the away side a 2-1 win against Wolfsburg.
After seeing off their main title rival in the midweek, Bayern Munich are three points closer to another league title after a 5-0 win against Fortuna Dusseldorf. No surprise there when you look at the position of these teams on the league table.
Robert Lewandwoski scored a brace to jump to 29 goals; highest in the league and in Europe. The European Golden Boot might be making its way to Germany.
Marcus Thuram’s brace was sandwiched by goals from Floria Neuhays and Alassane Plea; as Borussia Monchengladbach picked up three vital points from a ‘4-1’ home victory against Union Berlin. After dropping points in their last two matches, this was a needed win for Monchengladbach. For Union Berlin, it’s the 6th straight league match without a win. (4L 2D).
A great way to bounce back from a Der Klassiker defeat for Borussia Dortmund. Jadon Sancho scored a hat-trick as Dortmund showed their class in the second-half by grabbing a 6-1 win against bottom-table Paderborn.
Paderborn sinks deeper.
RB Leipzig fell on the right side of a 6-goal match against FC Koln. With the teams around them winning their matches over the round, Leipzig couldn’t afford defeat. The 4-2 victory sent RB Leipzig to third in the league and stayed firmly in the race for UCL qualification in the Bundesliga.
It is a tight race between 4 teams; Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipizg, Borussia Monchengladbach, and Bayer Leverkusen.
