  • 8 games without defeat for Union Berlin was ended in the Berlin Derby. Hertha Berlin cut Union Berlin’s lead on them down to 5 points after Krzysztof Piatek scored two goals to see Hertha Berlin came from a goal down to win the Berlin Derby in the second half against a 10-man Union Berlin. This was Union Berlin’s first defeat since their home defeat against Augsburg on September 19th.

  • After winning their first Bundesliga game of the season in the last round against Dortmund, FC Koln lost their lead on two occasions to end up with a point at home against Wolfsburg. Wout Weghorst scored the equalizing goal for Wolfsburg quickly after the restart to see his side remain unbeaten in the league.
  • Armina Bielefed beat Mainz 2-1. It was their second victory of the season; and also allowed them to move two points above Mainz in the standings.

  • Dortmund dropped points in consecutive matches in the league. A 1-1 draw at Leverkusen didn’t allow Dortmund to take the maximum advantage of the result between Bayern and RB Leipzig.

  • Freiburg remain without a win in the league since the opening round of the season. They managed to take a point from a Monchengladbach side that had hoped to close in on a Champions League qualifying spot in the league.
  • The top two teams shared the points in a 6-goal thriller. RB Leipzig went to Munich and took a lead, made up a 2-goal deficit, and blew a 2-goal lead against the defending champions. In all, Bayern Munich kept their place at the top of the league table after battling their closest rival in the title race.
  • Silas Fundu’s second goal of the match ended up being the winning goal for Stuttgart against Werder Bremen. It is 7 league games without a win for Werder Bremen; and a consecutive defeat at the back of 5 straight ‘1-1’ draws. Funny enough, the result was Stuttgart’s first win in 6 matches. Before their defeat against Bayern Munich in the last round, Stuttgart had been part of 4 straight league draws {‘1-1’ ‘1-1’ ‘2-2’ and now ‘3-3’}.

  • Schalke’s run of winless matches in the Bundesliga was extended to 26 after a losing at home 3-0 to Leverkusen. The result was what Leverkusen needed to take advantage of the other results around the league.
  • In the final match of the round, Florian Grillitsch scored a brace for Hoffenheim to beat Augsburg to tie them in points accumulated in the league.
