Granada moved up to third; replacing Getafe in the top four.

Levante moved up from the bottom of the standings with a point gained at home against Celta Vigo.
Real Valladolid (with a game in hand) replaces Levante at the bottom of the standings after losing to Alaves.

It remains a wide open race in Spain.

Newly-promoted Elche are unbeaten since tehri opening day defeat against Real Sociedad. Elche were 2-1 winners at home against Valencia after two stunning strikes placed them in a comfortable position before the end of the first half. Valencia’s losing streak goes up to 3 league matches.

Ruben Garcia’s penalty decided the game for Osasuna against Athletic Club.

Real Madrid won El Clasico in Camp Nou. It finished 3-1 between the two La Liga giants. No goals from Messi or Benzema. A consecutive league defeat for Barcelona.

Eibar held on to a 1-0 lead in the 41st-minute to win away in Seville. The result marked a consecutive league defeat for Sevilla and a three straight league matches without win (4 in all competitions).

Atletico Madrid found a goal in the early and late parts of the closing half to beat Real Betis.

Alaves scored two second-half goals against a numerically disadvantaged Real Valladolid to bounce back from their defeat in the last round (against Elche).
Cadiz remained without a home victory after keeping Villarreal out. Ended as a goalless draw between the two.

Getafe went from beating Barcelona to losing at home against Granada. Angel Montoro converted from the spot in the dying minutes of the first half to get
Granada three points at Getafe.

Mikel Oyarzabal scored two goals as Real Sociedad hammered Huesca 4-1 to move to the top of the league table. Huesca remains without a win.
