Domestic Leagues

About a quarter into the 2016/17 Italian Serie A.

After twelve rounds of the 2016/17 Serie A season, Juventus is still king and on top of the Serie A table. Their title defense season is going to plan, and there might not be enough power in their domestic oppositions to stop them.

The fixture for Fiorentina vs Genoa was canceled due to the weather. Because of this, the teams have a match in hand.

Inside the Six

As long as Juventus is in the top six, there isn’t anything weird about the Serie A table. Roma, AC Milan, Lazio, Atalanta and Napoli complete the six teams at the top of the league standings.

Inside the Eighteen

Two of the three newly-promoted teams are in the relegation zone at the moment.

The three teams (Crotone, Palermo, Pescara) in the relegation zone have all managed a win after 12 rounds of the 2016/17 Serie A season.

Newly-promoted Crotone has the most defeats and therefore sits at the bottom of the table.

Fifth week of the 2016/17 Serie A season : League leaders Juventus celebrate their goal against Cagliari in a ‘4-0’ home win .

How are the newly-promoted teams adjusting?

Cagliari is the best performer amongst the newly-promoted teams in the 2016/17 Serie A season. Cagliari tops the bottom half of the league standings with 16 points from 5 wins and a draw.

Pescara and Crotone are both in the relegation zone. Crotone has the worst record in Serie A so far.

Who might be in for a thrilling season?

Inter Milan did their homework over the summer and did some decent signings and made some managerial changes that were supposed to put the team in contention for a European spot. At this point, we would say that the team has under-performed.

Inter has as many defeats as victories in the first twelve matches of the season. Their inconsistency led to the sacking of their new manager Frank de Boer after just 10 league matches.

The quality on the team saws that Inter Milan can put up a better performance and challenge than what we have been witnessing up till this point of the season.

How Inter Milan finish their season would definitely attract discussions.
