About a quarter into the 2015 Premier League

Premier League trophy

After 11 matches, Chelsea has 11 points, no team has 11 wins, James Vardy tops the list for golden boot with 11 goals for Leicester City, Crystal Palace has conceded 11 goals, all teams started with 11 players but not all end with 11.  (had to keep the 11 things going)

After 12 rounds, no team in the BPL has avoided defeat, and no one has gone without a win, even Aston Villa (the last team on the table).

Manchester City sits on top of the table with 26 points. A goal difference of 4 is what separates them from the Arsenal.

Leicester City is up there in a usual position. They sit 3rd on the table, thanks to the goals from Jamie Vardy (league top scorer) and Riyad Mahrez. Manchester United conclude the top 4 of the Premier League table.

Two points separate the top 4, five points separates the top 6, and 9 points separate the top 10.

It took an ‘own goal’ loss to Manchester United for Tottenham Hotspur to suffer their only loss of the season. This gives them a great defensive record and the longest unbeaten run in the league. They sit 5th on the table, tied in point with West Ham United.

On the opposite side of Tottenham’s streak is Aston Villa. After Villa’s win in their first match against newly promoted AFC Bournemouth, they have failed to secure 3 points in any of their first 12 matches. The only team with a worse record than that of Villa’s is Sunderland

Despite getting trashed at home by Arsenal, after going 6 premier league matches undefeated,  Leicester City hasn’t made that many mistakes either. That home defeat is the only defeated suffered in their first 12 matches. Two wins and a +2 goals difference is what separates them from Tottenham.

West Ham United season is filled with some unexpected results. They beat Liverpool and delivered 50% of the losses that the top two teams have had Manchester City and Arsenal loss. All three teams were beaten on their own turf.

The defending champions; Chelsea, also lost to West Ham. But beating Chelsea is getting less impressive as the season goes on.

With 2 red cards in their first 3 games, Chelsea is doing a really bad job at defending their title. After 12 matches, they are left with 11 points and sits 16th on the Premier League table. They have more losses than wins and draws combined. They’ve only managed 3 wins. After losing 5 points from their first two matches, a 3-2 away win against West Bromwich Albion was their first 3 points of the season. Had James Morrison convert his penalty kick, it would probably have ended in a draw. But this is futbol, it remains unpredictable. Not seeing a team managed by Jose Mourinho battling for top 3 position at this point of the season is an unfamiliar thing to all of us.  Ramirez, Costa and Willian are the top scorers on the team, with 2 goals. Willian has been invaluable to Chelsea this season. We can argue that he is the best free kick specialist as I write. Willian has a total of 5 goals for the Blues, all free kicks. We are waiting to see the real Chelsea team come back and put on their kits, this is getting shameful.

Relegation zone is occupied by AFC Bournemouth, Sunderland and Aston Villa. Aston Villa sits low on the table with 5 points after 12 matches. Sunderland managed to trade a loss for a draw. They sit 6 points above Aston Vila.

Newly promoted AFC Bournemouth have 8 points to complete the bottom 3 on the table.

Right above the relegation zone is Norwich City, Chelsea and Newcastle United. A point is what separates these teams. Norwich has 12, Chelsea 11, and Newcastle United has 10.

It took 8 matches for Newcastle before securing a win. A big win of 6-2 over Norwich City was how the Magpies got their first 3 points of the seasons. This was after a 6-1 defeat away to Manchester City, the biggest margin of defeat recorded so far.
