Copa America Centenario semi final at Soldier Field, Chicago
Colombia 0-2 Chile
Charles Aranguiz (7’)
Pedro Fuenzalida (11’)
Argentina was waiting, and now the know. Chile will be going against Argentina again in a Copa America final. The defending Copa America champions are on route to defend their title.
Two early goals for Chile buried a Colombian side that is recognized by a lot of people as one of the best Colombian football sides in history.
Chile started aggressively as usual and pressed for a goal with every possession. Charles Aranguiz scored the winning goals in just 7 minutes from an attack that started in Chilean defensive third.
About three minutes later Alexis Sanchez shot bounced back off the post, and set Pedro Fuenzalida up for an easy tap-in goal.
Colombia’s record in the Copa America Centenario will show that they win when they grab the lead first and lose when they are the team to go down a goal. They are bad at chasing matches, and being 2-0 at halftime, you could sense that Chile had their foot in the final.
This is Fuenzalida’s second goal of the tournament and his 3rd in 29 games for @LaRoja. #COLvCHI #Copa100 https://t.co/3X3Q73gROm
