Briefing
A 5-star performance from Luka Jovic ensured that Eintracht Frankfurt enjoyed the return of the Bundesliga after the international break with a massive home victory to kickstart the 8th round of the season. Jovic’s second half hat-trick saw bag 5 goals against promoted Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The excitement for us neutrals is knowing that when Bayern Munich is not on top of the league standings, the title race is far from over.
Wendell early penalty miss proved to be vital at the end as Bayer Leverkusen had to settle for a point at home against a 10-man Hannover 96. Karim Bellarabi late equalizing goal stopped Leverkusen from suffering defeat in front of their home fans.

Borussia Dortmund scores 4 goals in three straight league matches to remain at the top of the league standings after an away victory against Stuttgart.
RB Leipzig drops points and position in the title race after a goalless draw with Augsburg.

Robert Lewandowski bags two goals as a contribution to Bayern Munich’s needed victory in the Bundesliga. Bayern ended a run of 3 winless matches that included defeats successive defeats in their recent matches after a ‘3-1’ away win against Wolfsburg.

Hoffenheim beats promoted Nurnberg to get back to winning ways after three competitive matches on the losing end, while Schalke 04 is taken back to the losing ways after ‘2-0’ home defeat against Werder Bremen. It could have been three wins on the bounce for Schalke, but Werder Bremen seemed to be a team in need of the maximum points to keep their place near the top of the league standings.

Hertha Berlin shares a point at home with Freiburg, while Monchengladbach did the damage in the second half to beat Mainz by 4 goals and move to second place in the league standings.
