2018/19 French Ligue 1 – Round 4 – PSG has began drifting away from the batch

Kylian Mbappe and Neymar lead the list of scorers with 4 goals each.
With just four matches into the season and Paris St. Germain has a victory away from their nearest competition in the league standings. PSG is the only team left in the French Ligue 1 that is undefeated by winning 100% of their matches. Saint-Etienne is unbeaten as well, but with a streak of draws.

 

Lyon season so far is a streak of a defeat after a victory. Despite being dominant for the majority of the match, Lyon found themselves on the losing end of a ‘1-0’ score when deflected shot on goal allowed Nice to get their first league win of the season on away grounds.

Newly-promoted Nimes was able to come from two goals down in the first half to tie the match with less than 20 minutes left of regulation time, but Paris St. Germain’s showed why they are champions a kicked into gear in the final minutes to get a victory that keeps their extends their winning streak. Both sides were reduced to 10-men when a red card was handed to Kylian Mbappe (PSG) and Teji Savanier (Nimes) were sent off at the end of the match 

A red card and a penalty could stop Angers from 3 points.
Loic Remy missed a penalty that would have given Lille the equalizing goal to save their unbeaten start in the league. A 10-man Angers side held on to a 60th-minute goal lead to bring an end to a winless start to their season.

Dijon is defeated a home by Caen. A ‘2-0’ defeat for Dijon leaves Paris St. Germain as the only side in Ligue 1 that remains unbeaten.

Toulouse wins at Guingamp Toulouse got the goals early in the match, and was able to protect their lead with 10 men accumulation of yellow cards expelled Jean-Clair Todibo from the match.

Newly-promoted Reims suffer defeat in consecutive matches after starting their season with consecutive victories. Strasbourg was on the wrong end of a ‘2-3’ score in an evenly contested fixture with Nantes. Saint-Etienne played their third consecutive draw after a goalless match with Amiens.

A 5-goal thriller for the final match of the round between Monaco and Marseille had both teams experiencing the enjoyment of leading by a goal, coming from behind to lead by a goal and losing a goal lead.
Valere Germain came off the bench to replace Dimitri Payet and within minutes, headed in the winning goal from a corner-kick for Marseille to turn the tie around and secure the maximum points at Monaco. It’s back-to-back league defeats for Monaco, while Marseille record in the league looks to be steadily improving.
