The final 20 minutes of the opening match was when Saint-Etienne found the goals to beat Nantes and make up for their defeat to Lyon in the previous round.

Lille couldn’t hold on to a two-goal lead at home against Lyon to get the results they needed to end a run of 4 winless matches that consist of 3 defeats.

Montpellier replaced Lyon at second place in the league standings by beating Monaco to secure 3 points. Montpellier took full advantage of the draw between Lille and Lyon when they came from a goal down to beat Monaco in the final 10 minutes of regulation time.

Marseille goalless draw with Reims kept Lille in the top four, while Strasbourg comes from an early goal down to convincingly beat Rennes.

PSG finally dropped some points in the league.
Bordeaux came from a goal down on two occasions to become the first team in the 2018/19 season to deny Paris St. Germain 3 points in a Ligue 1 match.
