English Premier League

2018/19 English Premier League – Round 6 – Liverpool is the only perfect team left.

The balance of play will indicate that Chelsea deserved more than a point. West Ham United ended Chelsea’s perfect start to the season by holding them to a goalless draw. It was the first time in the season that West Ham has gone consecutive matches without a defeat.

Liverpool is the only team left in the league with a perfect record after West Ham frustrated Chelsea to a goalless draw.
Mohamed Salah was on the scoresheet for Liverpool but it was Southampton’s Wesley Hoedt’s own goal that decided the match. Liverpool continued to keep their season perfect after beating Southampton to make it 6 wins out of 6 matches.

Both Fulham and Watford got a point to bounce back from defeat in their previous league matches after a ‘1-1’ draw. Burnley’s secured their first victory of the season by scoring a couple of goals in each half against a Bournemouth side that was coming off a high of scoring 4 goals in their previous match against Leicester City.

Riyad Mahrez scored his first league goal for Manchester City as they did the expected and put 5 goals past the defense of newly-promoted Cardiff City.

Newcastle United remains winless in the league after a goalless draw against Crystal Palace. It would have been a great result for Newcastle if the need for a victory wasn’t imminent.

Leicester City bounced back from defeat by coming from a goal down to beat Huddersfield Town by 3 goals to 1. Manchester United could only come out with a point at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Tottenham Hotspur finally found themselves on the right end of a ‘2-0’ score after Erik Lamela scored the winning goal for an away victory against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Arsenal wins 4-straight matches after 2 goals in the second half against Everton.
