2017/18 UEFA Champions League – Round 3 (Day Two)

Manchester United made it three wins out of three matches in Group A by getting an away victory over Benfica through a single second-half goal. Benfica made it three losses out of three in that match as well. Basel won their away match against CSKA Moscow to separated themselves on points.

Cavani, Neymar, and Mbappe were all on the scoresheet when Paris Saint-Germain scored four more goals to take their total goals scored in ‘Group B’ to 12 in three matches. PSG sits on top of the group and on top of a Bayern Munich team that also picked up a ‘3-0’ home victory over Celtic.

In ‘Group C’ Edin Dzeko and Eden Hazard scored a brace for their clubs when Roma went to Chelsea. The game ended in a ‘3-3’ draw after Chelsea blew a two-goal lead to chase the game by a goal.  It finished goalless in Azerbaijan when Atletico Madrid couldn’t find an expected victory against Qarabag FK.

Group D is going according to expectations. Lionel Messi scored his 100th goal in UEFA club competitions to see Barcelona defeated Olympiacos at home while Juventus had to do some work to avoid a consecutive home defeat when Sporting CP came to town.
