English Premier League

2017/18 Premier League – Round 8 – Manchester City continues to deliver goals.

Seven goals and seven scorers – Manchester City is flexing their muscles in the Premier League when it comes to goals. City thrashed Stoke to a ‘7-2’ score and opened up a two-point gap between themselves and the rest of the league after local rival Manchester United played out a goalless draw against Liverpool.

The biggest shock of the round was when a Crystal Palace side that goalless and pointless after 7 matches, ended up beating the defending champions. Chelsea suffered consecutive league defeats after losing ‘2-1’ away to Crystal Palace.

Christian Eriksen scored a goal to give Tottenham a home victory over AFC Bournemouth, while Arsenal gave up a place in the top four to Watford after giving up a lead to end up at the wrong end of a ‘2-1’ score. This was an Arsenal side that had gone 7 consecutive competitive matches without defeat, including three league matches without conceding a goal.
