2017/18 German Bundesliga – Round 8 – Dortmund slips while Bayern looks to have found the missing link

It took eight rounds of the 2017/18 German Bundesliga season to have all the teams record a defeat.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund) scored two goals against RB Leipzig to be the top goalscorer in the league after eight matches, but Borussia Dortmund suffered a first home defeat after 41 matches. The result was also Dortmund’s first defeat of the 2017/18 Bundesliga season.

Jupp Heynckes’s first match with Bayern Munich saw his side take advantage of Dortmund’s failure at home by securing a ‘5-0’ victory over Freiburg. A victory that pulled Bayern Munich two points away from the top of the table.

Stuttgart scored a late goal to clinch a home victory over FC Koln. Another late goal(own goal) denied Hoffenheim a home victory over Augsburg, while Schalke went to away and picked up maximum points over Hertha Berlin.
