Many expected the usual United States and Mexico final for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, Jamaica had other plans.
It will be Jamaica facing the United States in the final match of the tournament at the Levi’s Stadium. Jamaica will be playing in a consecutive CONCACAF Gold Cup final, after upsetting Mexico with a late goal from a freekick.
Clint Dempsey scored the insurance goal for the United States to move on to the final of the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Dempsey’s goal moved him up to equal Landon Donovan’s goal scoring record for the USMNT.
