2017/18 Spanish La Liga – Round 14 – Valencia falls out of the list of ‘undefeated teams’

Round 14 of the Spanish La Liga ended with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as the only undefeated sides left in the league. Lionel Messi scored to add to his tally(14 goals) as top goalscorer, but Barcelona failed to take the maximum points against Celta Vigo.

Atletico Madrid ended up being the only club that took the maximum advantage from the points dropped by Barcelona in Round 14 of the 2017/18 La Liga season. Barcelona remains undefeated a top of the table after a ‘2-2’ draw against Celta Vigo. Athletic Club held Real Madrid from taking advantage of taking advantage of the points FC Barcelona dropped in a goalless draw, while second-placed Valencia suffered their first defeat of the season against a 10-man Getafe side.

Alaves was the only team to win away in this round. Of the 5 goals that were scored in the second-half, Ibai Gomez scored a late hat-trick to see his Alaves side bounce back from 2-goals down to win away against newly-promoted Girona.
