Michy Batshuayi opened his goalscoring account for Borussia Dortmund on his debut, scoring a brace that included the 500th goal of the season and the first goal of 21st round of the season. Batshuayi played a part in all the three goals that Dortmund needed to take home maximum points from Cologne.

The isn’t a title race in the Bundesliga
Bayern Munich continues to march towards the league title after two first-half goals gave them victory over Mainz 05. The result meant Bayern stays 18-points clear of all rivals.

Salomon Kalou scored a second-half equalizing goal for Hertha Berlin to deny Hoffenheim a victory that would have opened a four-point gap between the two sides.

Relegation-threatened Werder Bremen scored two late goals to come from a goal down to win away against Schalke 04, a result that dropped Schalke from 2nd place down to 5th at the end of the round.

Freiburg held Bayer Leverkusen to a goalless draw, while new boy Ademola Lookman scored the winning goal for RB Leipzig to beat Borussia Monchengladbach and take advantage Schalke’s defeat. Leipzig’s victory made them the second team to register a double-digit victory in the league.

Eintracht Frankfurt needed a victory to climb up to second place in the league standings but failed to do so after suffering their first league defeat in 6 matches against an inconsistent Augsburg side that secured their second victory in 7 league matches with that ‘3-0’ result.

Filip Kostic scored late to save Hamburger SV from a defeat at home to Hannover 96. The ‘1-1’ draw meant the bottom three teams in the league were winless in the 21st round.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s move to the English Premier League, Robert Lewandowski didn’t need to get on the score sheet to widen the gap between himself and the closest competition in the ‘golden boot’ race. Lewandowski’s 18 goals in the league puts him 7 goals away from Augsburg’s Alfred Finnbogason (closest competition)
