Paris Saint-Germain bounced back from defeat in the last round very well when they took on Montpellier. Edinson Cavani opened the scoring for PSG to dismantle Montpellier ‘4-0’. Cavani’s opener was his 21st goal in the league (top scorer), and his 157th for the club (record top scorer in Paris Saint-Germain history)
While PSG could bounce from defeat, Lyon could not extend their winning streak in the lead. A ‘3-1’ defeat to Bordeaux left Lyon 11-points away from leaders PSG. Luckily for Lyon, they got to keep their place in second, after Marseille and Monaco shared the points in a ‘2-2’ draw.
Saint-Etienne came from a goal down to grab a victory over Caen, closing the point-gap between the sides to a single point.
At the bottom end of the league table, Nolan Roux scored two for bottom table Metz to hand Nice their first league defeat in four matches. Yaya Sanogo scored the only goal of the match to Toulouse to pick up a victory at home over Troyes.
