2017/18 English Premier League – Round 27 – Man City pulls 16 points away.

     

Arsenal falls 7-points away from their local rival as North London was turned ‘white’. Harry Kane’s second-half header gave Tottenham Hotspur the winning goal of the match to seal a victory over Arsenal in the second North London derby of the season.

Manchester City made ‘lightwork’ of Leicester City
Sergio Aguero scored four second-half goals for Manchester City to closer to the league title.
After dropping points in their most recent fixture, Manchester City decided to give us a reminder of why they were top of the league by ripping Leicester City apart to earn a 5-1 victory.

Everton defeated Crystal Palace to bounce from their defeat to Arsenal.

Swansea City is undefeated in their last 9 matches, including 5 league matches. A late goal against Burnley kept Swansea City‘s form going in an attempt to secure a place in the league in the coming season.

After coming off an losing streak to beat Chelsea, Watford went back to their old habits and suffered a defeat at the Olympic Stadium to West Ham United. The result ended a streak of 3-winless league matches for the Hammers.

Stoke City remains in the relegation zone after a point at home against recently-promoted Brighton & Hove Albion.

Manchester United fell at St.James Park to Newcastle United and allowed a 16-point gap to be opened between the rest of the league and the top of the league table. 

Huddersfield Town dug themselves out of the relegation-zone with a ‘4-1’ home victory over AFC Bournemouth, while Southampton was sent down after suffering a ‘2-0’ defeat to Liverpool.

Sergio Aguero’s four goals scored against Leicester City pushed him up in the list of the top goal-scorers in the season, creating a tight race to the ‘golden boot’ award between Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah. All three players found the net in this round.

In the final match of the round, Chelsea was back to winning ways after a comfortable ‘3-0’ victory over West Bromwich Albion.
